Brown Butter Bakes

Brown Butter Bakes is a cottage bakery specializing in desserts made with all-natural and organic ingredients.Chioma Ukonu is a self-taught cake artist who started Brown Butter Bakes in her parents’ home in Brooklyn, New York. Starting at a young age, Chioma was in the kitchen with her mother learning how to make traditional Nigerian foods. Her mother taught her cutting techniques, spice combinations and how to make sauces. However, she realized that with savory dishes, her sweet tooth was never satisfied. With this training in hand she began to branch out and experiment with the art of pastries and cakes. Her hobby soon turned into her passion and she began baking for neighbors, friends and family members during the holidays.
