Copenhagen Bakery + Cafe made its debut in the small Long Island town of Northport in 1998. The only Scandinavian bakery on Long Island is owner operated by Flemming Hansen. At the age of 16 in Ørbæk, Denmark, Flemming began his career as an apprentice at a local bakery. In 1985, after three years as an apprentice, he was offered an opportunity to work as an exchange student in Danish owned Olsens Bakery located in Solvang, California. Solvang, a Scandinavian themed-town was founded by Danish immigrants in Santa Barbara County, California. This cozy waterfront bakery with outdoor dining. In 2023, we celebrate 25 years in business in Northport, NY.
