Katz Jewelry Company was founded in New York City in 1963 by husband and wife team David and Rose Katz. Originally created as a way to sell jewelry to the couple’s friends, the company became a word-of-mouth success story as friends and customers recommended the small business for its personalized service, quality remodeling work and custom orders.After ten years in business, Katz Jewelry Company expanded to include David and Rose’s son, Julius, their daughter, Susie, and their son-in-law, Peter Kahan. A graduate of the Gemological Institute of America, Peter is certified in colored stones, gem identification, diamond grading and colored stone grading. Susie Kahan specializes in antique jewelry and jewelry design, and has a degree from the Fashion Institute of Technology in Jewelry Design.
