Red Gate Bakery is an intimate bakeshop nestled in Manhattan’s East Village. Named after the idyllic Nantucket farm where founder Greg Rales spent summers growing up, Red Gate was inspired by his fond memories baking in his swim trunks on warm afternoons.

What initially started as a simple wholesale business headquartered in Greg’s home quickly gained a cult following. After outgrowing Greg’s kitchen, Red Gate Bakery found a new home in the vibrant East Village, where he and Director of Operations, Patricia Howard, opened the first brick-and-mortar location in December 2019.

Greg gleans inspiration from the baked goods of his childhood, reimagining them with unique and unexpected ingredients. The pastries, which range from cookies to loaves to celebration cakes, are crafted with premium ingredients and ably walk the line between familiar and sophisticated, satisfying any and all sweet teeth.
