Cookies, Fruit, Groom's Cake
A classically trained artist with a BFA from Pratt Institute, Sarah’s journey to cake design began in 2014 at Sylvia Weinstock Cakes, where she worked as lead artist and creative director. After Sylvia’s retirement in 2017, Sarah worked closely with Kate Sullivan of Cakepower on a variety of projects that exposed her to new edible mediums and a truly boundary-pushing way of working. She approaches cake design from the standpoint of an artist, and pulls from her background to inform the way she composes and creates edible work: chocolate becomes clay, buttercream becomes paint, and cake is the underlying structure. While her first passion is art, what’s inside is just as important as what’s on the outside—her cakes are baked entirely from scratch by a small team of professionals, and the taste speaks for itself.
