Snooky’s Cakes has been around for over seventy years. I stumbled upon my grandmother Snooky’s original carrot cake recipe while renovating her kitchen in Charlotte, North Carolina. The recipe was etched on the back of a cabinet that I was about to discard. One leisurely Saturday I decided to bake the cake from the recipe that Mama Snooky left behind. I did so and, you know what, it was the most delicious carrot cake I ever tasted.

As a restaurant owner I’ve spent most of my time insuring food quality as well as speaking with guests. Time after time patrons would ask me : “What’s in that carrot cake?”. I’d explain to them that, “it’s my grandmother’s secret spices and a whole lot of love”. Shortly after introducing the cake to patrons in the restaurant not only was I selling more carrot cake in the area, but I was selling more cake than any other restaurant in the area. Soon patrons where asking to purchase entire cakes.
